Channel 4: teens want safer social media and relevant ads, not a ban
The Media Leader · 28 Sep 2026, 05:53 CEST · Score: 2
Channel 4's Teenhood Today study of 1,000 13-19s finds only 31% support a social-media ban and 81% would find ways around it; 51% prefer under-16 access with harmful features blocked. For advertisers the signal is relevance and transparency, not retreat: 60% would stop using a brand after a misleading ad, but 66% are happy to see ads for free content and 72% welcome personally relevant ads. CCO Rak Patel said teens want "society to step up and enable trust," not to shut the digital world down.
