India's news sites see the biggest traffic collapse

Hindustan Times fell 56% year on year to 84.4 million visits and News 18 fell 53% to 68.6 million in August, the steepest drops among the top 50 English-language news sites, per Similarweb data via Press Gazette. The BBC, after hitting one billion visits in July, fell to 818.5 million in August, down 19% month on month, while 39 of 50 sites declined year on year.
