Agentic AI moves from pilot to pipes in ad buying

Fox Advertising advanced its agentic-to-agentic deal-making platform to live linear TV with agency partners WPP, Omnicom, Horizon Media, Stagwell and Simulmedia, with Simulmedia's Dave Morgan saying advertisers can now "optimize their linear TV ad campaigns like digital" with automated agent-to-agent negotiation. LG Ad Solutions and Magnite extended their partnership three years and opened LG's Home Screen inventory to agentic buying through Magnite's Seller Agent, with agency H/L running the first such campaign. AdExchanger's Cloudflare interview and Beet.TV's interview with the IAB's Jamie Finstein both struck the same cautionary note, that the industry must standardise the language agents speak before the automation scales.
The crux
Agentic buying crossed from demos to production deals this week, but the plumbing, a shared vocabulary for what agents transact and report, is still being laid after the fact.
Sell-side read
The sellers who move first on agentic rails, Fox is the clearest example, are capturing spend that used to be negotiated and activated conventionally, which is a first-mover yield advantage that compounds because, as Morgan put it, "key for groups like Fox that go at this faster and more robustly, they will get more spend."
Watch
Whether the agentic deals extend to upfront conversations, and whether a standard for agent-to-agent reporting emerges before the 2027 upfront season.
