Xbox Wants What TV Has (Ads), and Meta Puts a Price on Links

Xbox has launched a TV and film division, XP, and its internal memo names "formalising" sponsorships and brand partnerships as a key investment area, adding a high-margin advertising line to a gaming audience that is famously ad-averse. In parallel, Meta is requiring non-subscribed business and professional pages to pay at least $49.99 a month to post more than two external links, and has extended the rule into comment sections; news pages are exempt for now, per Press Gazette, but the definitional line between a news publisher and everyone else is doing a lot of work.
